iPhone 6 Specs

The Apple iPhone 6 is an upcoming smartphone that will continue the legacy of the original iPhone series. It is still unknown when the new phone will be out as we are still waiting to see whether or not Apple will release the iPhone 5S first or skip right ahead to releasing a brand new flagship device. At any rate this page will serve to deliver the latest iPhone 6 specs and we will constantly keep it updated to include only the latest information.

Latest news (date: 23rd of June, 2013)

Currently there have been a lot of rumors about Apple releasing a brand new smartphone device. We have even posted leaked photos of the prototype which look rather similar to the iPhone 5, but it is obvious that there are certain differences that could make a major impact on the performance and the features of that device. However, this prototype doesn't look like a huge leap from the latest flagship device and it is very possible that it is fact the prototype of the iPhone 5S.

The iPhone 6 Screen , Display and Size

The screen and display of the new iPhone 6 is something that a lot of people are wondering about. Out of all the iPhone 6 specs that people are interested in, this probably take the cake. Why? Well, Apple had a very strict standard while Steve Jobs was around. He calculated that 3.5 inches is the perfect size for a smartphone and kept to that number. The iPhone 5 has a 4 inch display and it broke the long tradition.

However, it seems like the next iPhone might have to get even bigger as this is currently a rising trend in the industry. People are buying large phones such as the Galaxy S4, Galaxy Note 2, Xperia Z and so on. Rumor has it that Apple plans to release several models of the iPhone 6 which will include a 4, 4.5 and a 5 inch screen. However, there is no official statement to confirm this.

However, officials from Apple did talk about the possibility of a larger screen in the next-gen phone and why it isn't the best idea. Tim Cook said that most of their competitors try hard to ship out new devices with large screens all the time, but they always forget about quality. It is very difficult to have a high resolution devices with full HD screen quality. The trade off just isn't worth it at the moment, but once Apple's engineers figure out a way to bring the full power of the Retina display to a larger screen we can expect to see some larger iPhone models.

It is good to know that Apple keeps to their standards and stands by their guns I suppose!

Let us give you his full quote:

My view continues to be that the iPhone 5 has the absolute best display in the industry, and we always strive to create the very best display for our customers," said Cook. "Some customers value large screen size, others value other factors such as resolution, colour quality, white balance, brightness, reflectivity, screen longevity, power consumption, portability, compatibility with apps and many things.

iPhone 6 Gaze Detection

This isn't so much an iPhone 6 spec as it is a feature, but let us talk about it nonetheless! In order to continue their eco-friendly power-saving policy Apple might have to consider doing to the same thing Samsung has done for their flagship device. This is the inclusion of gaze detection, a smart sensor that will dim the screen if nobody is currently looking at it. However, since other manufacturers have already come-up with this tech, Apple is expected to have their engineers re-visit the concept and come-up with their own unique version.

Bigger Storage

For years now, the iPhone has been trying to set 64GB as an industry standard when it comes to storage. However, it is fair to expect that iPhone 6 might come out with a special 128 GB model. We have recently seen their 128GB iPad 4 and it is fair to expect that Apple might bring this to their next iPhone generation. Double storage capacity isn't exactly the most needed thing right now as a lot of people are switching over to the cloud, however, it would be a very strong feature to separate the iPhone 6 from the rest of the competition.

The Camera

The iPhone 5's camera did not really meet expectations and was crushed in tests by the Galaxy S4 and the HTC One. With the iPhone 6, Apple has a chance to get back the competition! Rumors suggest that 12 MP camera with a high quality lens is in the making. If this camera turns out to be amazing, then you will certainly be grateful to have 128GB of storage space considering how many photos you could take!
